So, what do I think? I LOVE it. I love the atmosphere, the personalities (although sometimes intense and intimidating), all of it. Even when I have worked for 21 hours with one solid meal, I love it (although my feet would beg to differ).
Another thing. I love the military atmosphere. Even if the sir's and ma'ams are required, it is still nice.
So a run down of the cool things that I have seen in the last week or two:
2 whipples
1 pyloromyotomy on a 5 week old
1 ruptured AAA
2 Fournier's gangreen
a ton of lap chole's and inguinal hernia repairs
2 liver resections
a few colectomies....and a ton more.
I am a really sad to be leaving this rotation, but at the same time looking forward to the adventures ahead of me. I have learned so much here and if I learn this much on every rotation, then I will be a lucky girl.
